Vegan pizza

This is the best pizza (short of flying to NY and going to Vincent’s in Albertson):

Make or buy pizza dough.  I used Bobby Flay’s recipe and substituted out one cup of regular flour for whole wheat flour: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/pizza-dough-recipe/index.html  Be sure to add gluten if you’re not using bread flour.

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.

Saute broccoli and garlic in olive oil with red pepper and black pepper in a cast iron pan.

Then put the broccoli in a dish and spread the dough in the still oiled pan.

Spread tomato paste (I was lazy and used a can of ‘Peeled Ground Tomatoes’ from Classico) then the broccoli and garlic on the dough and turn the stove up to high for five minutes.

Then put the pan and all into the oven for ten minutes.

Then pull it out, take the pizza out with a spatula, and let it cool off.  The crust and bottom taste like it came out of  a pizza oven.

Notes: The dough was from 2 cups of flour and the diameter of the inner flat surface of the pan is 10 inches.  If different then adjust cooking times.
