Rewording: ‘animal’ becomes ‘dog’ to preserve Loco’s record.

I believed that Loco (a/k/a Locomotive) had been adopted and returned more than any other animal. I was clearly mistaken, as that record has been held by Magilla Gorilla for well over 40 years.

I considered that Locomotive was adopted through a shelter while Magilla was sold by a pet store and so this could be viewed as adoptions versus purchases.  I did not think that this line of reasoning was fair as Mr. Peebles had reduced Magilla’s price so much that his sale price was considerably lower than the fee the animal shelter charged. This calculation used inflation adjusted dollars and accounted for the shelter greatly reducing their fee.

After adjusting the language it has been confirmed and certified that:
Loco has been adopted and returned to a licensed pet store or animal shelter(*) more than any other dog.
(*) among pet stores/animal shelters keeping records in accordance with accepted practices.
